Programmes:
Penyayang Pesakit Kanser
Penyayang Pesakit Kanser (PPK) was launched on March 19 2004 at the Putrajaya Hospital. PPK is managed by a committee of selected individuals. It is co-chaired by the Chairman of Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia and the Director of Hospital Putrajaya.
Halfway House
Located in Sepang, this 3-storey apartment provides accommodation for cancer patients and kin, especially those from Sabah and Sarawak who have been referred for further treatment at Putrajaya Hospital and the Nilai cancer Centre.
Penyayang Pesakit Cancer Van
Given the distance between the Hospital and the Halfway House, PPK provides a van to pick up patients at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport when they first arrive from East Malaysia. The van is also for the use of patients who need to travel from the Halfway House to the Putrajaya Hospital and the Nilai Cancer Centre.
Provision of Chemoports
PENYAYANG pays the cost of a chemoport for patients who require a chemoport to undergo chemotheraphy treatment but cannot afford the cost of the chemoport. Doctors at Putrajaya provide surgical support.
Free Counseling
A free counseling service is provided by doctors and volunteers at Putrajaya Hospital. These activities are supervised by PPK.
Positive Image Centre
PENYAYANG has a center that sells items required by cancer patients at o subsidized rate and below market prices.
Lymphedema Workshops and Seminars
PENYAYANG intends to organize workshops and seminars on lymphedema. Currently, PPK offers therapy for patients who have lymphedema. |
